UPDATE:

We completed the battery replacement at Restoration Gateway followed by system adjustments.  The new batteries drastically reduced generator run time and carried the hospital load for most of the night.  Our team arrived home safely on December 22, 2019.  We thank God for safety for our entire trip which included three countries, fourteen flights, and over twenty-four hours of driving time.  Logistics for the entire trip went flawless.

This update from Tom Garber was from December 15, 2019.  Pray that the work will result in systems that are complete.

Our I-TEC team is on the last leg of a three African country project tour. Shane, Gene, Matt and I visited a Tesla Micro Grid installation in southern Tanzania similar to what we have proposed to install in Liberia next year.
Gene, Matt and I then went to Burundi and did maintenance on three Power Pacs that have been installed over the past 4 years. Mostly communication upgrades so they are easily monitored from the USA. All three are functioning really well and it’s great to see the thousands of local Burundian people either being trained at Hope Africa University or medically and spiritually cared for at Kibuye Hospital.
We are now on our way to Uganda to install a new set of Lithium batteries at the Restoration Gateway hospital and orphanage mission station.
